Hi, I’m Loy Spurlock.

I founded Loy’s Toys in June, 1994, and retired at the end of 2007. Many people ask what I’ve been doing with myself since retiring, so that’s what these personal pages are about.

First, I no longer stock or sell DCC items as a dealer. For this, there are several dealers I highly recommend. I do, however, have personal items I need to sell from time to time. Also, except for these personal pages, I no longer control the content of the Loy’s Toys Web site. I turned it over to Bill Bradley, the one who has been taking care of it for so many years. He plans to keep the DCC information up for your continued use.

Even though I no longer sell DCC equipment, I do still try to support DCC for those who need it.

The Layout page is for those who have worked on, played on, or have seen the layout. I’ve made several changes to the layout since retiring, so have outlined those and provided photos of some of them.

I try to go once a month to operate on one of the HogRails (HO Gauge RAILroadS) up in Bellevista. And they sometimes come down to operate on mine.

I also have an 1/8 scale GP40 that I’m working on, and plan to start shooting grade for the right-of-way for an 1/8 scale railroad very soon. Click the 1/8 Scale button for more information about 1/8 scale railroading.

Lastly, I still enjoy working in the woods; thinning the trees, picking up rocks, brush hogging, generally taking care of it. We have over 40 acres, so it’s not likely this work will ever run out.
