This coupler is identical to the #5 in length, material, shank position, and knuckle. This coupler comes with the same draft box as the #5, but has two "whiskers" that center the coupler rather than the traditional bronze spring. This coupler will work anywhere a #5 will work, but is easier to install and will probably be even more trouble-free over the long haul.
