Some simple things that will help you decide which decoder is right for you, your loco, and your way of operation.
Search...
  • Locos with DCC-ready NMRA socket: any wired decoder with an NMRA plug. Some can even use direct-plug decoders.
  • Locos with the Atlas/Kato type light board: D-DH165A0, TCS-A1XX, NCE-DASR or D-DH163K0. Most can also use the wired decoders as well.
  • Most others can use any wired decoder.
