If your computer only has a DB-9 serial port available, you'll need a DB-9 to DB-25 adapter in order to use Digitrax's MS100 computer interface or PR2 computer driven decoder programmer.

There are at least two DB-9 to DB-25 adapter genders - only one will work. The adapter must provide the same connector pinout as a standard DB-25 serial port. We carry two different correctly-wired adapters, one of which can be ordered with a six-foot extension cable.

  • The DB-9 end of the adapter has large finger screws for securing it to your computer.
  • The PR1 and MS100 have finger screws to secure them to the adapter.

One-foot DB9-to-DB25 adapter cable for MS100 or PR2 on computers with DB9 serial port
  • The DB-9 end of it has finger screws to make the connection secure to the computer. However, it also has screws on the DB-25 end of it which collide with the finger screws on the MS100 and PR1.
  • If you need the DB-25 end to be secured, you'll have to get transition (through) nuts to connect them together, or remove the screws from them and use a different method.

 USB-to-Serial Port Adapter

This adapter plugs into your USB 1.1 or 2.0 connector to provide you with a high-speed RS232 DB25 serial port that your MS100 or PR2 can plug into.

The package contains the USB-to-RS232 adapter, a 6-foot USB cable, a CD-ROM with drivers, and a user manual.
