This
kit provides a clean and easy way to mount the Signal Driver Cable Connectors
under your layout to provide a solid socket to plug your signals into.
You get six metal mounting plates and
six standoffs. Screws are not included. Since it takes two plates and
two screws to mount one connector, the package provides mounting hardware
for three connectors (signal masts).
The documentation also shows using
single metal plates as a way to hold ribbon cable up to the bottom of
your layout. At $1.55 per plate, I think scraps of vinyl or other plastic
material would be better, and certainly cheaper, for this. If you don't
have anything suitable, we have vinyl strips (LT-VB:
package of 12 for $3) for this purpose. You can also use our VEL. Stick or screw the hook part up to the bottom of your layout,
then sandwich the ribbon cable between that and the fuzzy part. If just
doing the signaling ribbon cable, one VEL will make two retainers by
cutting it in half.
For lower-cost Signal Mounting Hardware,
check out our LT-VBS.
