The DB200+ contains the old
Challenger command station (for testing) and an eight-amp booster
with Auto-Reverse capability. Its purpose is to provide additional
layout power, for O/G scales and American Flyer, as a slave booster.
It is not recommended to use
more than five amps for N, HO, or S-Scale without also using a PM42
for lower current Short-Circuit Protection. Without a PM42, a DB150
(five amps) should be used as a slave for more power.
The only method of adjusting
voltage on a DB200+, besides using the scale switch, is lowering it
with diode pairs (installed in parallel in opposite directions). So,
if your other boosters can't be adjusted to match the voltage of the
DB200+, all you can do is lower the DB200+'s selected voltage by 0.75
volt for every pair of diodes you install. Matching voltages between
boosters insures that there will be no loco speed up/slow down when
crossing power district gaps - providing you have adequate wiring.
This Booster requires a power
supply with a minimum of eight amps. Refer to the Power
Supply page for information about voltage needs. |
