With your Windows-compatible computer interfaced to Digitrax's LocoNet with an MS100, WinLok turns your computer into a sophisticated throttle capable of controlling many trains at one time. If using a Chief, it can also program locos via the Chief's programming track.

DigiToys posts updates for WinLok users to download free of charge. This keeps your software up to date as new features become available, such as Transponding support.

Interfacing your computer to LocoNet requires an MS100. The MS100 plugs directly into your computer's DB25 serial port (COM1 or COM2). The MS100 is then connected to LocoNet via a standard six-wire phone cable.

If your computer's available serial port is a DB9, then you'll need an adapter. There are two genders of adapters that will plug on - only one will work: the one that will provide the same pin-out as if your serial port were a DB25. We offer two styles of the type that works: the CPA (2 inches long) and the CPJ (1 foot long.

Here are some WinLok features:
  • Create on-screen CTC style track diagrams (entire layout or sectional) with buttons and indicator lights.
  • On-screen recreation of train control devices such as cab controllers.
  • Joystick support of cab controllers.
  • Point to switch or button to set turnouts, signals and complete routing commands with point and click.
  • Control of up to 9999 locos, 2048 switches, and 2048 sensors with the Chief, 128 locos, 128 turnouts and 2048 sensors.
  • Automate block sections and hidden yards.
  • Easy on-screen one-step decoder programming feature for the Chief and Lenz Digital Plus.
  • Supports manual, semi-automated and/or fully automated operation of your layout.
  • Extended locomotive program functions, accelerate and breaking factors, direction memory after power up of layout.

As always with proprietary software, you are encouraged to make a backup for your own use, but copying it for others to use is not only bad form (like going into a store and shoplifting), it is also a felony in the U.S.
