| I think Central Hobbies has been a Digitrax dealer since around 1995 - I don't know for sure. I don't personally know the owner of Central Hobbies, Hal Kinsey, but I have personally known Bill Dixon, one of the employees, since 1996. I first came to know Bill on the internet. That was in the days when there were masses of misinformation - some due to ignorance, some intentional. There's still a lot of misinformation on the internet, but not anywhere near as much as there was back in the mid 90s - especially not nearly as much intentional misinformation. Bill was not shy about telling it like it is. He would occasionally step on some toes doing it, which directed a lot of scorn his way. Might I say, it was scorn from those spreading the misinformation. I had the pleasure of finally meeting Bill personally in 1996 during the Long Beach Convention. In fact, he stayed in our 5th-wheel trailer during that convention trip. Following is a list of products and services provided by Central Hobbies: Digitrax and NCE SoundTraxx Peco Track and Turnouts Some Tomar and Oregon Rail Signals Kadee couplers Some JayBee wheel sets Freight Cars Limited decoder and sound installation Limited re-motoring Paint and Weathering is jobbed out. Odd-ball stuff like resistors, LEDs, bulbs, Tortoise, special tools, etc.. Check out their web site. They ship to foreign countries. Central Hobbies has more items than the ones listed here, so you may want to get on their web site and browse around to see what all they do have. |
